Developer Relations Engineer

Become the technical face of Fish Audio for API developers, builders, startups, and voice AI teams.

About the Role

  • We are looking for a Developer Relations Engineer to become the technical face of Fish Audio for API developers, builders, startups, and voice AI teams.
  • This role is ideal for someone who loves building demos, explaining complex AI systems clearly, supporting developers hands-on, and creating real community momentum around voice AI.
  • As a Developer Relations Engineer at Fish Audio, you will bridge our voice AI technology and the developers building with it.
  • You will represent Fish Audio across developer communities, events, hackathons, Discord, GitHub, X, Reddit, and technical content channels.
  • You will help developers understand what is possible with our API, build compelling demos, troubleshoot integrations, and turn developer feedback into product improvements.
  • Your work will directly influence how developers discover, adopt, and scale with Fish Audio's TTS, STT, voice cloning, and real-time voice agent capabilities.

Developer Community & Events

  • Represent Fish Audio at AI meetups, hackathons, conferences, workshops, and developer events.
  • Deliver live demos, lightning talks, technical walkthroughs, and hands-on workshops around TTS, STT, voice cloning, and real-time voice agents.
  • Help build a strong developer community around voice AI, especially among AI app builders, agent developers, game developers, creator tool builders, and startup founders.
  • Partner with marketing, product, and GTM teams to plan community campaigns, launch events, and developer activations.
  • Write event recaps, technical posts, demo breakdowns, and follow-up content that keeps developer conversations active beyond the room.

Developer Education & Support

  • Help developers integrate Fish Audio's APIs into real products.
  • Support developers across Discord, GitHub, X/Twitter, Reddit, and other community channels.
  • Create clear examples, tutorials, starter repos, templates, and reference apps.
  • Explain technical concepts clearly, including latency, streaming, voice cloning, speech recognition, agent orchestration, and model tradeoffs.
  • Identify common developer pain points and work with product and engineering to improve docs, SDKs, onboarding, and API experience.

Technical Demos & Prototypes

  • Build compelling demos that showcase real-world voice AI applications, including real-time AI voice agents, voice-enabled companions, interactive game NPCs, AI customer support agents, voice cloning workflows, TTS content generation tools, multilingual voice experiences, and STT + TTS conversational loops.
  • Maintain demo quality, technical accuracy, and reliability for events, launches, and community use.
  • Turn new model capabilities into developer-ready examples and narratives.

Product Feedback & Cross-Functional Work

  • Collect and synthesize developer feedback into actionable product insights.
  • Work closely with engineering to identify API gaps, integration friction, SDK issues, and documentation needs.
  • Partner with product and marketing to translate technical capabilities into clear developer-facing positioning.
  • Support major product launches through demos, tutorials, community outreach, and technical storytelling.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong technical understanding of AI systems, especially speech, audio, generative AI, agents, or real-time APIs.
  • Experience building with APIs, SDKs, and developer tools.
  • Ability to write code and ship working demos quickly.
  • Comfortable speaking to technical audiences, giving demos, and leading workshops.
  • Strong written communication skills for tutorials, docs, launch posts, and technical content.
  • Experience engaging with developer communities through DevRel, open source, hackathons, Discord, GitHub, or technical communities.
  • Strong ownership mindset and comfort operating in a fast-moving startup environment.
  • Excitement about voice AI, AI agents, creator tools, and new forms of human-computer interaction.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with TTS, STT, voice cloning, speech models, WebRTC, real-time audio streaming, or voice agents.
  • Experience building AI agent applications.
  • Familiarity with Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, React, or backend API development.
  • Background in organizing hackathons, meetups, developer workshops, or open-source communities.
  • Experience working at an AI infrastructure, developer tools, or API-first startup.
  • Existing presence in AI builder communities, open source, or developer social platforms.
